Chilton & Haynes manuals usually take about two years to be published after a car hits the market. I have personally contacted Haynes and Bentley (they publish many other BMW manuals), and neither one currently has a MINI manual in the works, although that may change with a little bit of customer interest shown through emails, phone calls, etc.

The only current source of MINI info are the BMW Technical Information Service CDs, which the dealers use in their service departments. You can find one on Ebay by searching for BMW TIS. Mine only covers the MINI One and Cooper, but the date on the CD is 10/2001. There may be a new version available that also covers the S, but I haven't sppotted one.

If you have any specific questions, you can try posting them here. There are at least a few of us who have the CDs and can try and help. Forget trying to getany technical documentation though. When customers ask for any technical info on any of their cars, BMW tends to act like the Gestapo and just give you a loud resounding "NO!"

I found a 10/2001 copy (Ver. 3.2.1) on the web for a good pretty good price. But, I have a couple of questions...

1. The description says it covers RM' R50: Cooper, Mini One. Is this the original 1960's Mini? I don't see any mention of the new 2002 mini. This CD does cover the new Mini doesn't it?

2. I will be purchasing a 2003 Mini (I'm assuming the 2002 Mini is so similar to the 2003 that the CD will still provide sufficient information). I understand that the program uses your Vin Number. This Version will be too old to recognize my 2003 Vin Number. Will I still be able to fully use CD properly? (the description says you can still browse using year, series and model information.)

3. Do you know how often these CD are release? A new one every year?

Thanks.

I was one of the interior trim project engineers at Gaydon, Warwickshire UK.

R50 was the code name Rover / BMW used for the NEW MINI project

I have a 2002 MINI, and my VIN number didn't work, either. But I still have full access to the CD. Since you have a 2003, be careful since there may be some changes.

Do an Ebay search for "BMW TIS" and you should get some hits. That's where I got mine from.
