...not not that way

When I' goping down the road the rear end of my car squeeks. I think it might have to do with the suspension, but am not totally sure. Any ideas?

 

I was gonna say....

Speaking of lube - have you checked your sway-bar and/or control arm bushings for adequate grease quantity? Otherwise, could be your boot latch.

Could be the boot latch issue. Wrap some black electrical tape around the metal part on the hatch. Worked for me....then the sunroof rattle started.

 

You didnt just pick your car up did you?

Mine squeaked badly at the start. They had forgotten to remove the shipping/packaging materials from the rear suspension.

 

I think Dominic has had his car for about a year.
My suggestion for getting rid of the squeaky rear end is to eat fewer beans.

 

Man I had some Taco bell yesterday for dinner, man it was squakin up a storm... I was expecting lift-off or something... T minus 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, <Go For Auto-sequence start>, 4, 3, 2, 1! We have liftoff!!!

Ok.. seriously check the boot hatch. Mine squeekethed and I adjusted the two little black *****/boot stops and no more squeaky.

Spray EVERYTHING with WD-40...NO, not your butt....it is bad for your skin.....

EWWWW - definitely NOT WD-40.

Energy suspension has specific white grease for rubber and polyurethane bushings. uhh, do a Google, I'm feelin' lazy

Speaking of hose, my dealership gave me a stiff one and now I find out that this stiff one will go limp too in a matter of time Doesn't that just suck? See this thread for my PCV issues

Rye, I'll find some energy white grease to lube up my rear end instead of the WD-40.

Seriously now - at least for a moment.

I've had hatch latch rattles and squeaks from the beginning and it's a real pain in the (r)ear. Electrical tape works but may not be the final sollution. MINI now has a new style hatch latch to remedy the situation.

 

Don't forget to check the loose nut behind the wheel!

 

Silicone Spray lube on each of the pivot areas for the rear suspension took care of my issue. Worked much better than Beano.

Well the squeek came back a few weeks ago. My 1st inspection just came up at 33K and they were able to locate the arethat was causing the squeek!


OK, hold on to your pants... it was the linkage for the Xenon headlight autolevers!!


What? I must be crazy. The headlights are in the front of the car, right? Right?


The "sensor" for autoleveling is linked to the rear suspension so it can sense when the car squats or rises. Whod'da thunk it.
