New/Reman n14 Engine

Having a bit of a tough time locating a reputable source for a new n14 engine. Anybody around here know of one?

I have an n14 with excessive carbon build up. When I pulled the head, I could not see the tops of the piston due to so much carbon. I'm thinking about just replacing the whole thing and putting a new clutch in while I'm at it.

Did the engine have a major failure? Why not just clean things manually and slap it back together or is it THAT bad?

You might as well buy a Reman engine since the cost of a new engine is probably $7K+ I've heard Reman engines run about $3500.

It's got 85K miles. Pretty clogged up. Runs like poo. When I lifted the head and took a look at the pistons, my heart sank. They are soaking in Seafoam now, but I'm not sure I trust this engine any longer.

Any idea where to get another one or where to have the head reworked?

Give Chad a call at Detroit Tuned. He's done some reman sourcing for the N14 already.
