Replaced Power Steering Pump - Not working

Hey everyone,

I just finished putting in a new power steering pump that my friend got from the Mini dealer over here.

Everything is connected, fluid is in, yet the pump still doesn't function.

It is an '03 MCS with a little over 100K miles on it.

I've tried disconnecting the battery again, then disconnecting the pump and letting everything sit for bit, then connecting everything back up. Still no dice.

Not sure where to go from here. Checked the fuses I could get to. DOA pump maybe? Or am I just missing something else?

I'm currently checking the 100a fuse under the fuse box under the hood, but the others so far look good.

Good fuses. Dead in the water on this one.

is the main power in pushed all the way in?
Maybe its your car telling you you dont really need powersteering.

Both plugs are in. As far I can tell (and feel), the main power is plugged in all the way.

What else would cause no power steering other than a bad fuse?

The harness to the power steering pump has no power. From what I understand, it is supposed to always have 12v running to it?

If the 100 amp fuse is blown you will not get power down there. Good news is if you blew the 100 amp fuse, you still needed a pump.

Your are testing with a test light? You need to fully test both sides of each fuse.
