Cold start question

I've searched for an answer...but found nothing specific to this question, so I'm starting a new thread.

My 07 MCS with 48k, starts great without any rattles or issues. The only issue is that when driving away while cold, the car is a little louder than normal and power seems to be down. I talked to a dealer and they said the turbo is simply not warmed up so the car runs sans turbo until its good to go.

I've heard audio of the death rattle, and it doesn't sound like that...not nearly as bad...but I'm obviously a little on the nervous side.

I ordered the new tensioner and can put it in myself...but didn't know if that would cause more harm than good vs. putting an entirely new timing chain kit.

What would you all do in my shoes? Thanks!

Please don't throw parts at your car on the hopes that it will fix an issue that isn't even an issue. Everything you've just described is normal, stop being paranoid and continue enjoying your MCS.
