And no, I haven't read the manual.....though I did buy the famous shop manual CD....got a positive feedback from e-bay as well.....and I must confess, it was my very first ever on-line purchase......no laughing allowed....

Sounds like the shipping blocks that are installed to minimize suspensions travel during shipping. I have heard of MINI's and other cars slipping past everyone and reaching the customer with these still in place. Someone even said they preferred the handling with the blocks in place! You should give the ol' dealer a call.

if you're referring to the black boxes attached to the subframes with linkage arms going to the suspension arms, those would be the Xenon headlight self-leveling sensors.

Sorry, but the government is more concerned about where you go rather than the location of your MINI. The tracking units are actually sub-dermal microchip implants.

Don't believe me? Just feel for the pea-sized bump on the back of your skull right above where it meets the neck
