Clutch engagement question - is this normal?

I've got a 2009 Clubman D. The clutch and flywheel were replaced in January of this year. Since then I've put about 20,000km on the car of long distance driving. I broke the new clutch in very gently. Everything seems fine except for the following.

Car shifts like butter, which is great. However, when downshifting from, say, 3rd to 2nd, engagement is also like butter in the sense that it is extremely smooth. On previous cars, normally there is some kind of engagement where you can feel the flywheel and clutch rub briefly with some "vibration" if that makes sense. Now on the downshift the car engages as if the flywheel and clutch plate were always spinning at the same speed so engagement is flawless. (If that makes sense).

Clutch is absolutely not slipping and power transfer is excellent, however engagement just feels like I was moving the pedal with the engine off it is that smooth.

Is this normal?

Hopefully your car is fine. Your post is kind of funny. Your basically saying that your car is driving really well and your not sure thats normal?

Kind if like asking the question, My car does not rattle, and is really smooth on the road, is that normal? But seriously I will be interested to see responses.

Well, I've had quite a few problems with it so I'm a little paranoid. It wasn't like this before. When engaging the clutch after downshifting you could feel the friction point and the engagement between clutch and flywheel. Now that feeling is gone.

I was wondering if the clutch is glazed or something??

If it engages and disengages, and does not shudder (judder) or slip, it's fine.
