won;t start R1 fuse clicks

won;t start R1 fuse clicks

R52 2006 S conv.

Worked fine, one day, next day won't start.

Pulled batt. Pep Boys said it was dead.

Put in new battery, still won't start.

key in second position, r1 fuse i(pic. of engine with lightling bolt on box lid) in engine fuse box clicks. engine won't turn. Switched with R3 fuse (identical) sti9ll just clicks.

Any sweet ideas?

Did you get the issue resolved? Mine just developed the same issue.

I had the same issue not that long ago. Check your ground cable in the engine bay. Mine was loose. I also sanded it down to make sure it was metal on metal.

I had replaced the battery and starter before checking the ground strap. Pissed me off something fierce.

You can see it strap in this picture.

I cleaned and tightened all grounds and even ran another ground wire to make sure and the R1 switch relay still clicks ):
