On my way home from work tonight I had problems. I will get it checked out asap but I thought I would check here to see if anyone heard of this or if anyone can guess what the problem is.

I have a 2005 MCS manual trans, 68,000 miles.

Two problems that seem unrelated but are happening together. First problem I noticed was what appeared to be a loss of any power to the brakes. It happened then it was fine. Then my engine RPMs started surging. Then the brake problem again. I was able to get it home and the yellow triangle light came on a block or so before I got home. When I got home I noticed a burning smell. Not real heavy and I could not detect any smoke or anything like that.

 

A large vacuum leak would effect both brake booster and engine management.
