04 MINI Cooper S Supercharger Whine Has gone missing1

HI

I've a 04 Mini Cooper S with 98K Miles under the hood, i've owned and loved since New,
over the last few years I've noticed that the Normal Supercharger Noise the whine you get when you accelerate from about 3500RPM is not there or at least Not as noticeable as before. I can't say it missing any power so i would think the supercharger is giving boost so is working, I though it was maybe the Belt so at the last service i have the Belt replaced,
I was told that the Belt Tensor Damper was gone as well but I never replaced that at the time, would the damper have anything to do with the Whine of the super charger ? or any other thoughts?

Mark

A loose belt might cause the thing to slip. Really the tensioner is important, they are known to go bad, and no matter what, you should get a new one in there.
