steering wheel shimmy
steering wheel shimmy
I have an intermittent shimmy at above 45 mph.
I've had roadforce balance done and have two sets of tires - so balance of the tires is not an issue.
I put the car up on jack stands and ran it at highway speed.
The left front seems to be moving and causing the vibration.
The left rotor apprently is very slighly warped as it makes noise when I spin it by hand for 1/2 the rotation and not for the other half.
I also hear a click when I spin the tire one direction, then reverse it. I think the click is coming from the transmission and is normal.
The wheel bearing on the left makes no noise - I removed the brake caliper and spun the rotor.
14,500 miles on the 06 MCS - so it obviously sat a lot.
I recenly replaced the right front wheel bearing because of noise - it had the shimmy before and after that.
Thanks.
