anyone know how to remove the plastic bumper strips on a cooper? i paid extra for the chrome, but do not like the look anymore, i want to remove and paint if possible! help would be appreciated.

Welcome to MCO!
The chrome inserts are actually held on by plastic tabs that insert into the bumper cover. If you remove them you will be left with small holes of where the tabs should be placed.

This topic came up some time ago only in the opposite way... One of our members wanted to add the chrome accents to a MINI Cooper. The funny thing we discovered is that MINI actually uses two different bumper covers.... One for Chrome accents.... the other with out. The only difference being tab slots. Depending on how you order your MINI you will get one of the two bumper covers. IMO very Odd!!
