I noticed when I put my R53 away last fall that both my mufflers appeared a bit lower than they should normally be. I also notcied that the mufflers would swing a bit too much from side to side.

So, up on jacks it went and I found that both top muffler clamps had rusted out and were broken. The whole rear section of the exhaust was only being held up by a sliver of the upper clamp on the right muffler.

Took the clamps apart and called parts dept at MINI Moncton. They had the right side top clamp but told me they didn't have the left side one (OEM 18201490023) and that BMW Germany didn't even have the part. He then told me that I would have to wait at least one month for the part to come in. WTF!?!

A month?

Poked around on the interwebz and quickly found that NO ONE appears to have this part in stock.

I really could use a hand locating this part ANYWHERE, new or used.

There are plenty of MINI's in junkyards. There may be one near you. If not, get on the internet. There's nothing wrong with a good, used part..especially when there's nothing else available!

 

The drivers side commonly rusts out for some reason. Be very specific about your production date when ordering this, there are two versions of the hanger!!!!
