CV Boot Replacement, Anyone with the Bently Manual?
CV Boot Replacement, Anyone with the Bently Manual?
Would anyone who has a Bently Manual for the R56 be willing to scan the pages for a Driver Side (US) Innter CV Boot replacement for me??
I don't think its ripped, but more the inner clamp isn't tight enough anymore and has leaked grease. Just incase, I'm going to replace the whole boot anyways. I'm hoping once I have it off that the half shaft is still O K.
Trying to figure out the best way/side to get the boot off/on, whether it be pulling the shaft out, or disconnecting a joint?
Thanks...
Looks like noone on the 56 has posted about this yet, just R53's

Erik, are you just needing pages, or a walk through?
Cliff Notes for Driver (Left) Side CV Axle Removal:
* remove front wheel
* loosen flanged axle nut
* detach tie rod end from steering knuckle
* detach outer ball joint from steering knuckle
* swing knuckle outward from car, and press stub end out of wheel bearing
* remove CV axle from transmission output spline

Thanks Erik.
Curious if theres any difficulty in putting it all back together, in terms of the ball joint to the knuckle etc. It's work that'll be done on jack stands without any presses or anything, so I just want to encompass all thats involved before getting stuck 3/4 way through, lol.
