Tons of problems with MCS 2007 R56 65k, exasperated.-ts3bb.jpg

Why no ODB2 code while there is a code leading me to another visit with my mini dealer?

List of problems I've had and details:

2007 Mini cooper S. 65k.

rough running;
warranty replace high pressure fuel pump
warranty replace cam chain tensioner
replaces aux h20 pump (warranty recall)

open issues:
broken vanity mirrors..just fell off.
crumbled plastic grommet/conduit for passenger side that holds the windshield washer fluid. now no pressure
leaking h20 pump
car runs fine and then after 2 minutes runs in a crappy mode and gives a check engine light. no codes in odb2. It only started doing this after the last visit which was to change the oil.

background:

Engine was making cold rattling noises. Oil change ended the noise. The thing that's upsetting is they saw the car in october and at that time claimed they topped the engine off. So they are claiming that there was "no oil on the dipstick" two months after topping it off themselves. That would mean the mini ate an entire quart of oil in two months of driving 14 miles a day back and forth to her work. Doesn't add up.

So now after another diagnosis which they charge 129 bucks for, I have to take it back yet again to get the water pump replaced at 65k miles.

Very disappointed. Thinking about dumping the mini after this repair is done.

Any thoughts?

Cut your loses. Just had the aux water pump recall done on our 2008 Clubman S with 30K miles over the weekend. Tonight driving home from work got a check engine light (First ever in 4 years of ownership).

Car has 30K miles and I will be out of warranty in 10 days from today. Car is going back bright and early first thing tomorrow morning to Braman MINI in Miami.

We love the car but the problems (Design defects) of the PSA Prince engine are frustrating and concerning post-warranty.

frustrating. tired of the bs. and its equally frustrating that it records or displays no OBD 2 codes yet has a check engine dialog on the screen.

And the reset brake light procedure seems to not work on mine for some reason.

Every time I fart, it seems MINI wants to charge a diagnostic fee. Cant catch a break and MINIUSA has no intentions to help us with the problem. =(

I believe I agree with you and would get rid of this Mini.

I would not even invest any $ for the repairs; just trade it in for another vehicle !

Let someone else have the headaches and you get a new car ! ! !
