air conditioning / heat control lights do not alway turn on
air conditioning / heat control lights do not alway turn on
Recently the air conditioning control lights don't always turn on with driving lights or head lights. It is a '07 MCS with manual air. If you push one of the buttons for A/C or air recirculation the lights on those buttons come on, but the lights on fan speed, air flow selection, and air temp stay off. Any help is appreciated.

On my 06 MCS the HVAC panel lights seem to be off when they are really on. The problem I have and might be similar to your problem is: If I turn the instrument panel light brightness up all the way I can see the HVAC panel lights however as a start to turn the instrument panel light brightness down the HVAC panel dims twice as fast as the other lights so that when most of the instrument panel lights are at their lowest brightness level I cannot see any lights on the HVAC panel. Since I usually drive with the instrument panel lights turned to the lowest level, I cannot see the lights on the HVAC panel.
To test, try turning up the brightness on the instrument panel lights and see if you can start to see the HVAC panel lights.

I have paid a lot more attention to when the lights are working and when they are not. I have found that it is all of the back lighting for the buttons and dials in the A/C controls, the lights that show where the CD player is, and the lights on the buttons in the speedometer for the radio. The other thing is that it seems to be on a perfect schedule of working fine all day, not working the next, and then working for another full day.
