can this warning light be reset? is there a TSB on it? If so what does it recommend?

If it's a one-time blip of a fault, yes it can; but you'll need more than a generic OBDII scanner to check such.

Depends on what model year your 2nd-Gen vehicle is.
There's only a 2007 model year TSB present: M34-01-07.

First, are you still covered under the OEM warranty?
If so, turn it in and let MINI service handle the issue.
If not, figure out if you're covered via an open TSB.
