P0336 - Crankshaft Position Sensor

My 07 Mini is sick and has the following OBDII codes:

P0336 - Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance
P1786 - Manufacturer Control
P1321 - Manufacturer Control

Does this means the sensor is bad? I had noticed in several member's posting pix that the sensor is below the exhaust manifold. It seem that I will have to remove the radiator and the exhaust manifold to get to the darn sensor.

BTW, what is the best shop manual for a '07 Mini? Is it the ultra expensive Bentley's manual? Is there a Hayes or Chilton manual for this car?

I once had a P0336 code. A few days later the car went truly nuts as if it was heavily misfiring. A few dashboard lights came on aswell.
After restarting the car it was fine again... for about 5 minutes. After replacing the sensor I've never had this issue again.

Therefore I suggest you to replace it before it causes your car to stall completely like mine did.
