I was looking at the miniusa.com website and the gear ratios for the S look all wrong.

5th and 6th gears are listed at 3.66:1 and 2.97:1 respectively. The ratios for the regular Cooper are 1.05:1 for 4th and .85:1 for 5th. The ratios for the S just can't be right they are much to numericly high. It doesn't make any sense for a 6 speed manual not to have overdrive. The only thing I can think of is that the Ratios for the S have the final drive ratio included and the ratios for the regular cooper do not.

I thought the same thing....email miniusa.com for clarification.......

 

Likewise, the same question on gear ratios- is 6 overdirve? Driving it would seem that 5 is very close to 6.
