Anyone hear a slight scrape sound at ~2k to 2.5k rpm?

I used to drive with windows open or stereo on all the time so there was alot of noise. But now, I have quieter tires and I dont' use the stereo at all.

And I've been noticing in the past few weeks that when accelerating from a stop, I sometimes hear a sound right at around 2k rpm or slightly higher. I can only describe the sound as like a metal scrape sound for like half a second. It's not a rattle, not a squeak.

I dont' know if it has always been there and I haven't noticed or if its something to be concerned about. I dont' hear anything else unusual when driving at any other rpms or doing anything else.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Can you be any more specific on when it occurs, how it occurs, or what the car was doing at that time?
Is it from a standstill? Or only one specific gear? Or everytime at 2K-2.5K RPMs?

I usually only hear it around 2-2.5k rpm when goign from a standstill like a at a stoplight. i only hear it for a half a second when ~2k rpm. Though I have also heard it when traffic slows and I let the car just coast and slow all the way down and then accelerate again in 1st/2nd past that rpm range. Not sure if it means it wouldn't happen in the other gears, but I'm usually not in that low rpm range in the higher gears.

The first time I heard it, it kinda reminded me of a scrape sound I got in my old car when a rock was caught in the wheel or something, except in that case it was a constant scrape till the rock or whatever fell out 30sec later.
