The major work was done at the Raleigh location. During the first couple years I had a couple very minor items addressed at Winston.

I'm glad you had a good experience. Mine just hasn't been as good. I don't think the service manager, Steven, is a bad person. I just haven't been fond of their mechanics works especially with the interior trim and radio replacements, causing rattles that weren't there before, and haven't been fixed since even after multiple visits. Also, the leaking oil kinda pissed me off, since I was just in for service last week, and they said there was "nothing wrong with the car", and I just happen to find a pretty nasty leak a few days later that had been there for awhile - I know because the amount of residue that was there. Today, I pick my car up from their repairs, and when I shut my car off, the engine shuddered the whole car. I start it up, and it shudders again. Cut it off, happens again. It just seems like I can't catch a break with this car. I'm going to have to take my car to get this engine shudder looked at now.

From what I've read and a few owners I've talked with, I'd say the minority of folks are dissatisfied with Flow. That said, I do know of instances like yours where it seems they are far from living up to their normal reputation or our expectations. Which is too bad as I have seen far worse dealer stories than what gets posted about Flow.

Best I can do is wish you good luck and hopefully they will get on the ball sooner rather than later.

Mini Cooper S 2012 Standard

I purchased my Mini brand new and recently have been having trouble with my heat not working. I took it to the mechanic who replaced the O Ring and said it was leaking antifreeze. I also continue to have problems with my driver side rear tire being low. Even after the air is put in, about a week or two later, the indicator light comes back on that it's low.

After I got the heat fixed, it worked for about ten days - then stopped working again. Of course, the weather was at its coldest it has been all season and I had to drive around freezing until I could get time off work to bring my car back in.

Now Mini has had my car for three days - fortunately, I am still under warranty, but it sounds like this is a very common problem. I am shocked to have this problem with less than 30,000 miles on this vehicle. I have taken good care of the car since I purchased it almost 18 months ago and it seems ridiculous to have any such problems so soon after owning a car. I owned an Acura Integra for over 16 years and never had recurrent issues or anything major come about. I actually still own the Acura and now I'm kicking myself for purchasing a second car. My Acura has 208,000 miles and still runs great.

I am supposedly going to be able to pick up my car tonight or tomorrow. They told me the car was leaking oil onto the engine. There was also a thermostat sensor problem and leaking water line or something? I am obviously not a car person and don't understand the mechanicals - which is one of the major reasons I purchased a new car - so I would have peace of mind, but in all honesty, I am losing confidence in this car fast. Anyone want to buy it from me?

Welcome to the R56. I'm sorry you're having troubles too. It is quite frustrating. Bring the previous owner of 2 Honda Products, I know what you mean about the reliability being nowhere near the same. I'm hoping the new F56 car, due out in the Spring of 2014, will make huge strides in the reliability category. My car was having the same oil leak problem. It's been nothing but problems since I bought it. Hopefully things will turn around for the both of us. Good luck!

The people at Flow Mini of Raleigh, just don't give a rat's as* about fixing the car correctly. The next closest dealership is two hours away, and owned by the same company. Then, after that, I would have to drive to Charlotte (2.5 - 3 hours) away, and there is no guarantee that they are going to fix the car. I've just gotten to the point where I am at my wits end with the car. Yes, it is under warranty, and I have not spent money on fixing the car, but I have spent tons of my time away from work, which is costing me lots of money. They just don't fix the problems, and there is nothing I can do. I have contacted MINI USA, and they basically said it's up to the dealer to make it right, but that doesn't mean anything.
I'm kind of in the same boat. I am kicking myself for purchasing a car from a Mini dealer who is an hour and a half from my home and about two hours from my office. This means to take the car in or pick it up, it literally takes a half day. I have already had to work from home one day, borrow my husband's work truck twice (because the dealer ran out of loaner vehicles) and now tomorrow I'm going to have to miss a day just to deal with going to pick up the car because it's supposedly ready.

After only owning this car for 18 months, I have to say, I am discouraged. I really hope they truly fix the issue so I don't have to be so inconvenienced. I have an issue with my heat - crack in my O- Ring, which was replaced but then my heat again stopped working...and then they said oil leaked onto the engine - I think they said they had to replace the oil pan, or whatever. I can't even keep track - I'm not a mechanic, just a girl with a whiny car.

Just picked my car up last week after yet another round of problems. The oil leak, etc... Well today, out of the blue, the check engine light came on, the car lost almost all power, and it started making a funny noise at idle. I'm seriously thinking this car is a LEMON.

Oh, no! That doesn't make me feel very secure...I am planning on selling mine if I can before I chance having anything else go wrong with it that I can't deal with...it's definitely a fun car to drive, but I have decided with all my trips up to Vermont in the snow and ice, I should really start contemplating an SUV. This car is just too tiny.

I got my car back on Friday. So far so good...

I just can’t believe what I’m hearing here. Why would a dealer not fix something under warranty? That’s paid work from MINI and not money out of their pockets. That’s like turning down paid work… I have had no problems with my dealer “Momentum MINI” in Houston. They seem to fix everything and I even find out they do more stuff during a service call if needed. I have had a call to say they need to keep it one more day since they found something else that needs fix while fixing another item…. Don’t get me wrong as it’s not in the shop that much but when it goes in it gets fixed. I’ve even had my JCW badges replaced under warranty because the red paint was coming off. The horn MINI logo was all spider web cracked and they replaced the airbag so it had a nice new logo…. Even the little cosmetic things have been no issues. The dealer told me they make a ton of money on warranty repair and it keeps the guys busy and happy in the shop..
