DT Low speed fan fix?

Hey all,
I wonder if anyone else seen new product from DT,
1st Gen Low speed fan fix?

For ~60 bucks, ready-to-install kit, i don't think its bad at all.
Anyone have experience with em?
How hard will the install be? involved tools?

I could have just sent DT an email with the questions but thought some other members would be interested in the product too.

It looks to me like the fan assembly has to come out to install the new resister. There are a few sets of instructions for that around.

So, as a fix this might not be a bad way to go assuming their resister lasts longer than the stock one. And it doesn't pay to do this, IMO, until yours is bad which most are.

$60 is kinds pricey imo for a item than can be replaced for $100...
good to see somebody is gathering the parts as a kit, but it seems like $30 should be the max price...admiddidly the oem fan is $$, but if you are willing to jury rig an oem fan to keep it running, going to an exact fit aftermarket is not a stretch...
For the record my aftermarket TYC fan is going on 3+ years..might actually be 4 now...
And the fan motor is JUST A DC MOTOR....they do wear out...so spend $60 to keep the oem fan running...it might have 90% of its life used up..
Juat saying...like DT, and chad is a great guy, but pricing seems off a bit.

I wonder if that kit works for the pre-2/2003 (2 connector, relay in the fan) or the post 2/2003 fans
(one connector, relay in the fuse box). They don't specify with the R50 and R53 choices.

The vendor's description says "This will work for both fan units, the one wire harness, or the two wire harness. You just need to wire it in a bit different than the directions show" Is that the pre/post February 2003 difference you were talking about?

Yes, that's what I was talking about.
I skimmed the description but completely overlooked that sentence.
