Mini Cooper S Noise Help

Have a 2004 Mini Cooper S with 69,000 miles and have a noise I think is coming from the supercharger. Please take a look at the video and let me know what you think. Thanks.

Mine is making the same sound! I have an '06 MCS Cabrio with 60k miles. I'm taking her to the dealership in a few weeks once I have the money for the warranty deductible. One of my friends thinks it's the supercharger issue, and I really hope it isn't.

mine was making the same noise. turned out to be the timing chain guide had broken allowing slack in the chain.

Sounds like one of two issues to me.
1. Your belt tensioner damper bushing could be bad allowing metal to metal contact. You should see some extra bouncing happening at the top of the damper. I was able to carefully place pressure on the damper to change or eliminate the noise for diagnosis reasons. Replacing the whole tensioner assembly is the best fix. Powerflex makes a new bushing for it but I didn't have much luck with that route.

2. Your timing chain tensioner could be bad. It's easy to change and is located on the back right side of the engine facing your firewall. If you do some searching here you'll find pictures.
