2006 cvt transmission

2006 cvt transmission

The problem: I recently purchased a 2006 Mini with the CVT (auto trans). it seems to hesitate and jerk at low speeds. additionally it is slow to accelerate. the vehicle has 45k miles. any suggestions?

You might want to see if the fluid has been changed and if not, it would certainly be a good idea to do so. Although the CVT can be troublesome, regular fluid changes seem to help it last longer.

It could be the shift emulator. CVTs don't have gears, so they simulate the shifting with a module.

Sometimes that module goes bad.

Thanks for the info. regarding the shift module, is that something that has to be done by the dealer or can the average car owner purchase and replace the part.
