Are there any guides for replacing the air filter?

On a sidenote, can you get an upgraded air filter for an 05? I'm not much of an engine guy, so I'm not sure what a lot of the stuff means. I drive my Mini around a coke(the stuff for steel, not the drink) plant and have to wear a respirator at times, so I'm imagining my filter is getting slammed with coke dust.

You will be looking for a long time. This car does not have a MAF. The computer only uses the exhaust levels. With the Super Charger, you want to get a LOT of air in there, so you should welcome it, not restrict it.

The Alta filter helps you in this, as the K&N Typhoon CAI. The Alta filter element comes with way too much oil. Make sure you remove some of it or it will make its way to the SC. I know because I have seen it.

The dirtiest K&N filter is suppost to allow more airflow than a stock filter. I am sure that this can not be completely true, but they are better than stock.

(im not even sure where the MAF is on this car yet...need to take a closer
look.)

I just checked out my filter and its a mess at 27,000..

Can someone tell me how to remove the hose clamps, and if it is possible to put it back on the hose? I just had to squish my airbox around a bit instead of removing the clamps to get access to my air filter.

And one last thing, could I purchase a K&N air filter at a local pep boys?

Flathead screwdriver into the "bump" in the clamp, twist ... reattach clamp with pliers.
