Wont start - P1688 and P1106
Wont start - P1688 and P1106
Hi all, my mini just did some spooky ****.
Was doing a 3th gear pull and in 4000 rpm or little above i got some "misfire" sound.
try to start the car up again, wont start.
read codes.
P1106 Manifold Air Pressure Sensor Too Low at Engine Stop [pendingFaultPresent DTC validated validatedFaultPresent validatedFaultState]
P1688 Electronic Throttle Control Monitor Level 2/3 Air Mass Flow Calculation Error [testInhibit DTC validated]
reset codes, P1106 still on.
try to start, goes upto 1350rpm just for 1 sec and dies.
Managed to start the car with part throttle and went above 3400 rpm, stays there for a few seconds then limp mode went on and I was able to drive the car home.
Have datalogs for the starting if anyone can help..
Google says, BPV or Harmonic damper, but no smoke and no rubber smell at all.
when in limp mode I have -0.4 bar pressure in manifold. I think it supposed to be in -.6 to -.8..
any ideas ?
I was able to drive a 5 miles in limp mode no problem, so I think its no internal engine failure. I thought first it was maybe fried pistons/rings or something like that, but it cant be :P

Sorry about the spam, but this problem is solved ( I hope ).
Unplugged the MAP sensor and it ran OK, little rough but OK, (ECU probably uses Alpha-N calculation to administer fuel)
