'05 S Key Fob

I am told that the key fob charges when it is in the ignition. Since the key is solid (not 2 part), How is this possible? Is it an inductance thing?

It is induction charging like electric tooth brushes.

To test this out, after you park your car, open your door with the key in the ignition and the beeping starts.

Pull the key out as usual and wait for the beeping to stop.

Now slowly bring your key up to the ignition switch & the beeping will start before you touch the ignition switch.

That's how close your key has to be to charge.

Hope that helps & Happy Motoring!
