I just put a 15% SC pulley on car and now I can hear my damper making noise. I can't afford $400 for a new one right now. I can't really afford a new one right now so I am not sure if it last a month or so. I have enough for a lightened pulley but afraid to put that on temporarily. Any opinions would be great.

 

Well you dont have to spend $400 first of all you can get the Mini cooper ATI damper at Summit Racing for $338, also RMW is selling a Damper for around $300 that is nice also. I would not use a lightened crank pulley personally, MINI uses weighted crank dampers for a reason. I have a 1st gen. MINI with 65k miles, my damper has not gone yet but I am making plans to replace it before that happens.

 

By the time I get a puller and shipping I am right $400. Will be 2 weeks before I can swing that. If I wouldn't have just bought the mini 2 weeks it wouldn't have been a deal at all.
