Which side?

1. Water pump

2. Thermostat Housing

95% chance its one of the two.

I have replaced both and they are common problems.

The coolant reservoirs have also been known to crack.

Water pump failure would generally be accompanied by a 'screeching' noise, particularly when starting/stopping the engine.

Not always.. Mine was leaking and made no noise actually. Just left a nice little puddle under the car.
