so yea i was recently in a huricane and when i opend the trunk the was a mildue smell and water on the left side of my batery does anyone know wear the water could be coming from?

 

1-Tail light housing gasket.
2-Boot handle gasket. ( water makes it down via lock assembly and into battery box. ) Sometimes just removing it, cleaning behind it, then using some black silicone sealer

smeared onto the gasket and then replacing is all that is needed. Newer grab handles come with a thicker gasket.

Most times #2 but I have occasionally seen a tail light as the culprit.
