07 Coooper Engine Failure Frost plug let go

The frost plug on the timing belt end of the engine "popped out", dumping coolant into the timing belt bay, eventually into the oil pan. Instant hydrolock, engine ends up getting replaced. Anyone out there ever hear of such a thing?

Yes. It happens occasionally on any brand. It's not a common occurrence but it does happen. Fix it and keep on keeping on.
