hey gues recently iv been starting up my 05 mcs to warm up before i go out, and for some reason the airbag light stays on??? so i turn the car off and back on and than i shuts off. its been doing it like 0nce every other month. if anyone knows whats wrong please leave some feedback

 

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. Best call a dealer to be safe.

 

Have the same problem in the 05 MCS I just bought, don't carry a passenger much so wasn't gonna worry about it, but apparently it's pretty common for the weight sensor mat in the passenger seat to go bad, lots of other posts on here and other sites about it.

 

Over the weekend I searched on NAM for hours about this same issue. I came across one with a PDF file about the connections under the seat. I cut and replaced the connectors but nothing, same issue. So apparently its the weigh sensor gone bad and that's not a cheap replacement. So, since I rarely have anyone in the passenger seat I took the cluster off and put electrical tape behind the speedo face and no more light. I know its not the safest about going this route but I'm the only one in the car at all times.

 

Yep, The connector issue was the problem for 2003/4 and earlier. 2005-2006 have issues with the delicate sensor mat/ribbon placed in the passenger seat.
