I have 2005 MCS and have a problem with both the airbag light that is staying on and the seat belt light that stays on, even when I am waering the seatbelt.
Are those two light related or not?
Is there anything I can do to disable the lights/

The airbag light warrenty was extended....the due mostly to wiring harness issues....
With an 05, depending on the production date, you may/maynot have 2 stage airbags with weight sensors under the seat...they were added starting with JAN production...my 05 does not....built late 04.
It sounds like a wiring issue is affecting both items....
If you just get a tool, and reset the light, it will comeback...
But as mentioned, the warrenty was extented on many mini airbags...call your dealer/mini USA with a VIN to findout!!

 

It's also possible you have a sensor broken in your seat belt. This happened on my 02 and I had to replace the seat belt.
