i have a Mini R53 and i want to change the DME to a Facelift DME.
I coded the new / used DME with winkpf and with my VIN.
But i have a problem with the EWS.
I'm searching a way to virgin my DME ?
Or do you know where i can read the EWS-DME synchronization code in DME - MS43.0.

Anybody knows a way to code the synchronization code to my new / used DME ?
Or how i have to Reset a used EWS4.3 ?
So i can link the virgin EWS to my used DME ?

The DME and EWS are married for life you can't just swap a used DME in.

And now I'll bite on the second, Why are you changing to a "facelift" DME as you called it???

If your DME is faulty you need to buy a new one.

 

You have to get the EWS from the same donor car. Problem your going to have as Way pointed out, they are married by VIN. And upon vehicle inspection the VIN from the donor car will be what the state inspector sees and won't match what's mounted to youre dash. And it can't be changed.

You can order a new DME from MINI, they sell them both programmed and unprogrammed, but either way the're not cheap.

Not sure why they even sell used DME's in eBay....makes no sense.
