Check Engine Light - Post Cat Sensor

So....here's my dilemma. My engine light came on, I read the code:

Post catalyst fuel trim system too rich
bank 1
p2097

I replaced the sensor..not once, but twice. I put a jobber part in first, and the code wouldn't clear, was told the stock part would do it, so now it's stock, and the code STILL won't clear. The wires have been checked as well.

The funny part is it's likely a 'hard fault' as I can reset the fault, clear the light, recycle the key and the light is immediately back on. I've been told if its the sensor that's the issue it should take a few minutes, or days even to come back on...

I'm losing my mind over this, any suggestions, anyone?!

I've been told it could possibly be the ECU...but a dealer told me thats very rare.

Thanks for any info!!

A quick update:

The light is out!!! Thanks to this forum I've found the solution - had to take the 'instructions' into the local shop to have them do it, and good to go so far! Any q's checkout Joey's post: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ors-p2097.html
