Go to page 50 of the owner's manual and yes, it does say it is for brake fluid. Since it has a date below it, I believe it is saying the brake fluid was due to be changed 2/2011. However, it wouldn't hurt to check the brake fluid level to be safe!

The low fluid warning has an exclamation point rather than a drawing of liquid. That displays means the brake fluid should have been replaced last Februrary. Or so a quick reading of the manual available online at ol.miniusa.com would suggest.

I got this alert today as well. I looked in the manual and I believe that the car is due for its two year fluid flush. Brake and clutch.

I'll be bringing mine in this week.

Thanks everyone! I had the emergency brake on so thats why the "brake" light is on. Checked the brake fluid, and called the dealer for my 2 year flush.

Thanks Again!
