Exterior bulb warning on brand new mini

So I just picked up my new mini yesterday from the dealership and when i got home and turned my car back on I got the "bulb of exterior lighting system failed." So I walked around my car and they all seem to be working. The light only comes on for a couple seconds.

Is there a way to reset it? Has this happened to anyone else?

Has not happened to me, but seems to me I have seen another thread about a similar issue on NAM. You may want to search. If not, I suspect you'll get an answer soon. Best of luck. Unfortunately, electrical gremlins can strike any vehicle, even brand new ones.

Hi,
I had the same symptom with exterior bulb out warning but no visible bulb out. It was on & off quite a while and finally one day I caught one of license plate bulbs was out. (But intermittently off ). Just keep eye on your license plate bulb. Mine is 08 clubman S

May simply be a loose bulb. I had this happen with my BMW.

My '08 did this - intermittent "bulb out" warning, but all bulbs were OK. I mentioned it to my MINI dealer, they found a fault in the right front parking light. They replaced the light unit, even though it seemed to work OK. Warning hasn't returned in ~ 3 months.

What ever happened with this? Mine is doing this, I suspect the LEDs but are there LEDs that wont do this or a way to stop the alert?
