2006 Cooper S SRS Light

ok im starting a thread for this since no once seems to cover this for the year of cooper S. i had my car detailed and they must have jimmyed the plug underneath the seat becuase both the red srs airbag light and yellow airbag off light were both on when i got it back. i felt underneith and gave all the plugs a good push CLICK! and the yellow airbag light went off. GREAT i thought, easy fix. then i looked down on the speedo to see the red SRS light is still on S**t! I've been reading that it needs to be cleared in the system before it will go off. The dealer and any of my local shops want 1 hour labor to plug the car in and turn it off for me when in reality it only takes about 1 minute to navigate through the software to do so. I have tried an OBD2 tool and still wont clear the light. i have read on other posts that this b200 tool or whatever its called is supposed to do the trick but its only listed as being able to work up to a 2003. is there some type of tool i can buy to turn this off on my 2006? i dont care on cost if it saves me a trip to dealer and them ripping me off as well as being able to fix this problem whenever i want then fine. please help this light is really starting to annoy me

Peake makes a tool....
I think mini mania sells it. It must be used to reset the airbag system anytime a light has been triggered....
Some high end ob2 readers (pro) can do it too....

ive seen that but it doesnt say anything about clearing the airbag light. does any one have experience with this "2001 - 2006 BMW Mini Cooper Scan Reset Tool R5 / EMX" tool" and if so, does it work on the airbag light for a 2006 mini?

Peake code thing doesn't do SRS either fyi.

Invest some time and $$$ in ncs and other diagnostic software that can be found online.

There are 2 different Peake tools...
one is a specfic airbag tool, one is a code reader/obd2 tool.
turner motorsports (not a supporter sells both...mini mania once sold the airbag tool...thought they still did).
they sometimes pop up for sale...used...just be sure it is the right tool...they both look similar.

$129.00
Just call them before ordering...the website is very bmw centric, but they do sell many mini products, and know which ones work for both.

Sounds like the detailer caused the problem, why not have them pay to have it reset?

Does anyone have an update for this issue. OP, what was your solution?

I have an 06 MSC with the Red SRS light and yellow airbag light on. It goes on and off randomly. I unplugged all the connectors on under both the passenger and driver seats and the lights remain the same. Did anyone find a working SRS reset tool for 04 and up?
