Hey,
The other day, when I got in my car, I had no power steering. I called my service center, and they had a few suggestions, but nothing worked, so today I went to the service center, and they put a whole new power steering pump. Is this common?

Some early build 2002's have had their power steering pumps and/or electric steering motors replaced.

However, the power steering in our '02 Cooper CVT is still factory original and has been working perfectly fine in 19K+ miles of motoring.

Mine is a 2002 "S", and I have just over 42,000 miles on it

with the new motor, it works fine, well, so far, but that was only about an 80 mile drive from the dealer to the house, so we'll see
