Gas Pedal - gone bad or not bad? I dunno!
About 6 months ago I was running up an on-ramp and got a SES light. I used the diagnostic mode in the odometer to find that it was showing P1122, which apparently is Pedal Position 1 Low Input, and seems to mean that the voltage coming out is too low. Nothing bad seemed to be going on so I just let it go...
Of course, I need to get inspected to renew my tags so I went ahead and bought a new (used) acclerator pedal, and it hasn't fixed the problem. I tried a few on/off cycles and also did a software reset via the diag console, to no avail. It's still giving the same fault code, so that's good I guess. At least I didn't make a new one!
The fault occurred about a week after I changed the LCA bushings, but I really have a hard time belirving that's related. A year prior I did the waterpump gasket and actually forgot to plug in the throttle body sensors and all Hell broke loose, but that's a whole different set of codes so I don't really think there's anything there either.
Unfortunately I don't have a Bentley (yet?), so once the wires disappear into the underdash I have no idea where they go, or what pins do what. I assume the other end is on the ECU. Can anyone give me a hint here?

I have seen that code before on an R53 and the solution/fix was a new gas pedal.
As far as the code not going away. There are just some which will not clear on their own and this could be one of them.

Does that mean I need to have a scan tool to clear the code? I would have thought that a SW reset (plus a hard reset because I just disconnected the battery and re-seated the ECU connectors) would clear it, but I guess there's some nonvolatile storage too.
this may be grasping at straws, but sometimes it's just the number of drive cycles required...
When I put the new header, cat and O2 sensors on Gollum it took over a week of driving before the SES light turned off - I had given up!

Welp, I got my hands on a scanner and cleared the code. Then it came on again. The diag console still says I have an 1122, but the scanner says it's P2096. Based on a quick forum search, I may have a PITA on my hands. I'm a little concerned that the two codes are different. The scanner is one of those cheapy ones that run about $30, but a friend of mine had it and lent it to me. Ah bugger, it's beer-thirty now.
