Brake Fluid service light

I just picked up a Service needed light. I check in the Check/Info and found it was a Brake Fluid light.

Does this mean a fill or replacement? If it is replacing the fluid, what type should I use for Autocrossing and what tools will I need to use to do it alone? My bet is that I can buy the tools and upgraded fluid for the cost of a dealer visit.

Will I have to replace it again when doing the front brakes in 6K mi?

iirc, it is for a fluid replacement. I think the OBC calculates the brake fluid flush on a two-year cycle.

Should just need a simple brake bleed kit and basic tools. Not sure on a recommendation for type of fluid for autocross though.

The computer in the MINI is programmed to tell you to change the brake fluid every two years. That is when you should replace it anyway.

If your going to do AutoX you should get the Motul brake fluid
