2011 washer nozzle weeping...
2011 washer nozzle weeping...
Since its pretty warm in the RVA I have noticed little trails of water spots down my hood starting from the nozzles. I passed it off as some dew possibly or when my family moved the car in the morning they used the washers.
Well I saw it again this morning before leaving for work. This time I know there was no dew as the car still has a light dusting of pollen and it was not moved this morning. I did some searching and noticed that previous R56 models had this and some posts about check valves.
Anyone seen this on a 2011 yet. Luckily the RainX fluid I use just rubs right off and no stains but its really annoying to spend hours on Sunday cleaning and such then see little trials of spots down the hood...

+1 on annoying.
I see it as well on my '11 S Clubman. It did NOT happen on my '09 HT.
Does yours weep only after using your washers, or always / whenever? Out of curiosity, do you have headlight nozzles?
I seem to notice it more after using the washers. Intend to do a little more troubleshooting on this (e.g., spraying when stationary and seeing what happens to bonnet; cleaning bonnet and not spraying to see if it weeps, etc.).
In any event, the next time I'm in there, I plan to let the dealership know it's unsat and I want it fixed.

Going to mess around this weekend troubleshooting...
I have not used mine in the last week but once when it was raining to get he bugs off. It seems the every time I get done driving they weep. It really annoying.
I have tried to leave the cap off the bottle but thats not helping anymore the hotter it gets.

I'll keep an eye out on what you find out I sooooo want this fixed.
Haven't tried to troubleshoot myself yet, but it does look like a heat / expansion issue that's been going on for years in mainly the S models (which lends credence to the heat concept):

The checkvalve concept makes sense to me; however the valves need to be positioned closer (i.e. just upstream) of the spray nozzles in order to be effective, IMO. Otherwise - even if the checkvalve serves its intended purpose, there is still fluid in the line between the valve and nozzle that can ultimately weep.
Let us know what the dealer does / says please.

Dealer did the same thing for me on my 2010 a year ago. While it lessened the issue, it didn't eliminate it.
Would you please post a photo of what they look like (are they the same ones in the photos in other posts / threads)?
Thanks.

I noticed on my Clubman as well. Looks like I'll have to bring it in.
