Red "Oil Can"

My wife has a new 2010 non s R57 with 800 mile on. Just after start the "oil can light" and the audible warning chime comes on for 1-2 seconds. Oil level full.

Not every time and only when engine is at normal operating temperture.

Dealer keep the car a week waiting for oil pump. Returned to us and said "oil presure indicated to HIGH- replaced pump and changed oil, Ok now".

Next day after about the third start light is back. Seems to stay on a few miliseconds longer each time it appears.

I am a flight engineer by trade and am uncomfortable with this abnormal indication. Any thoughts would be a big help.

My other Mini is 2011 R55s and never had the light on before or after start.

Thanks

Just a guess as I don't know if Miins even have one, but how about a an oil pressure sending unit that is near or exceded it's limit window.

Doesn't the N14 engine have an electric "on demand" oil pump? If so I would think it would be controlled via pressure transducer input to the ECU? Perhaps a bad transducer. Like Oreod I'm just guessing based on general information on the N14 engine. It would really be nice if Bentley or someone would come out with a workshop manual on the R56 series cars so we could understand such things......

The matrix said to change the pump. I would have thought the pressure switch should be first in the troubleshooting checklist. Or maybe they can get an independent reading.
I put an extra 600 miles on it and the light has only come on twice. Still no oil lose ,odd very odd.
