I have an '03 Cooper with a leak in the valve cover gasket. I already bought the gasket and the spark plug tube seals. The only thing I am lacking is the know-how. I will have the help of my father who has done valve cover gasket replacements in the past on other types of cars but a write up would be phenomenal. So PLEASE if you have a .pdf or anything please let me know! My dad is driving up and we are doing the job Sunday so the sooner the help the better Thank you in advance!!!

 

Crikeys! This job is so easy you should be able to just look at it and see what to do...

That said, you do need to remove the intercooler if you have an S, and be aware that the screws on the valve cover are retained by clips, don't try to take them out, just loosen all the way and they will stay with the cover as you lift it off.

You'll learn more by jumping in and doing it than reading someone's how-to, so go for it!

If you really want to learn how to work on your car, buy a Haynes or Bentley manual and read it - you'll learn a lot! Then, jump in and get your hands dirty...

 

I don't have a supercharger so does that change anything?
