HELP! DSC faulty? Multiple dash lights on

Car: 05 MINI Cooper S cabrio, chrono package

I've searched many threads on similar issues but need another opinion as the dealership wants to swap out my DSC unit for $2763.85.

3 weeks ago several lights appear on the dash upon startup: DSC, ABS, tire pressure warning, brake, and SES. Speedometer does not move from zero mph, even when driving. I cannot manually toggle off the DSC. I also only recently noticed that the odometer is not accumulating mileage.

The door locks do not autolock at whatever the set speed is. On board computer does not display values for avg mpg, avg speed, constant mpg, etc. Temp and mileage range still display. Trip odometer does not accumulate mileage. The fuel gauge seems to fluctuate some.

The car drives fine, although I haven't tested the ABS.

I suspected a bad ABS wheel speed sensor, but no other post on that common problem ("Trifecta"?) mentions odometer issues.

Please let me know what you all think may be the problem!

dealership report

60156 dsc unit interrogated fault memory. fault codes S001- no communication, 1613 DME - serial communication (ASC), 0062 CAN BUS no message and 0067 no message from KOM2 present. performed test plan. found K-BUS not operating. Found CAN H at 2.08V (2.6V needed) and CAN L at 1.77V (2.4V needed) removed KOMBI 1 and 2 from system. no change. removed steering angle sensor, and EGS. same. removed DSC unit from system, CAN high and low good. Advised new DSC unit...

My cheap OBD II scanner showed P1613 code and pending P1613 code.

Also, 2 days ago I changed my car battery with an OEM replacement. (Car would not start, battery indicator window was black (insufficient charge), brake/tail lights turned themselves on, headlights would turn on when trying to start the car.) I don't think there is any relation to this. The car starts fine now.

I don't have the exact problem like you have but similar. Everything works but the ABS, Brake, and DSC lights are all on.

Brake light is on is because I needed some new rear brake pad but what I'm not sure is if the rear brake need to be replace will ABS and DSC lights need to be on too?

I can't turn off or on the DSC switch. I will try to change out the brakes and check the brake fluid and see if the ABS light will go away.

I had a vaccum pump problem on this vehicle and just had it fix. When I got this car back i got all these lights turned on. I'm not sure if they all are related but I didnt have these lights on before the vaccum pump failed.

That light trifecta usually indicates a bad wheel speed sensor.

Did you end up going with a new/reman unit or used?

Can a used one be installed on these cars without reprogramming / marrying of the module?

I have a bad wheel speed sensor. The code reader did not specify which one. Anyway, only the DSC and tire pressure lights are on. The car no longer monitors tire pressure, plus DSC, ASC, and most of the ABS systems no longer work. (EBV, CBC, and MSR)

The speedometer and odometer work, as do all onboard computer functions. Tires do not lock under braking, but the behavior of the car has changed if the brakes are used in a corner, leading me to believe that the brakeforce distribution systems are not working. The tires can spin freely under power.

I'm pleased with it. My only nanny system now is basic ABS.

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
Automatic Stability Control (ASC)
Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)
Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBV)
Cornering Brake Distribution (CBC)
Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR)
