lock/unlock/trunk buttons no longer work on key fob!

No problems for 3+ years and all of a sudden, the buttons on both key fobs won't work as of the same day. I can start the car with them but have to use the valet key in the fob to lock & unlock the doors. I've tried "reprogramming" as suggested in other threads (hold unlock button down, press lock button 4 times, etc) but no go. The guy at the garage who services the car tested the fobs and said the batteries are OK. Have there been problems with the receivers in the 2007 Mini? Anyone else have a similar problem? Thanks in advance for any help!

Happened to my 2009. Took it to dealer, they fixed it.

I'm having the same issue right now (haven't been able to get to the dealer yet.) Try touching your key to the top of your windshield and press the button. That works for me.

I was having the same problem with my 09 JCW, I have the keyless option. I found out from the Service adviser that you have to leave the key in the ignition for 30 minutes every 30 or so days as there are two batteries in the key, one is a standard battery the other is rechargeable.
