What does my car want?!

Hey everyone!

I'm trying to figure out exactly what's going on with the car. It runs perfectly fine, but I get these errors when I start the car. Maybe someone here can help me figure it out? No errors are thrown over OBDII.

This error is shown whenever I start the car. The BRAKE light is always on, even though the parking brake is not engaged.

This error is shown once I go through the menu system and have it show me errors currently on the car. Once again, the BRAKE light is on.

I'm thinking that the car is trying to tell me that the brake pads are worn, but I'm not 100% certain. What do you all think? The closest MINI dealership is about 6 hours away, so it's quite a drive to get there...

That's exactly right: new front brakes. So, it's either a six hour drive, several $$$ for a shop to do it, or an afternoon in the garage after you've gotten your parts. Good luck!

Cheers!!

It is free if you get there before 36k miles.

At risk of sounding rude, all these symbols are in the owner's manual. Because they aren't the most intuitive symbols when they flash during start up, I made it a point to tab the section in the manual where the descriptions are. Better to be safe than sorry; especially when the service is covered for the first 3yr/36k miles.
