04 CVT lurching at low speeds
04 CVT lurching at low speeds
Hi! I just brought home a used '04 MINI Cooper. It has 27,000 miles.I've experienced some lurching when accelerating from 0.Does anyone know how to solve that.I've looked around here and seen that the software update thing could help but I don't know how to do so.
And another question: My MC can only do like 21mpg when driving around in town and like 25mpg on highway.Yesterday,I drove her from dealer to home(7hr/420 mile trip) and I had to fill the tank twice(the tank was "empty" back in the dealer)and when I got home there was like half of a tank left.I don't know if Its normal.
Oh and with 27,000 miles on it,should I bring my MC to the dealer for some fresh tranny fluid?
Thanks alot!!!

CVT lurching at low speeds is relatively normal. But at 27k miles, I would recommend a fluid change and they will reset the software for you, which will help. CVTs are finicky and fluid changes every 25-30k miles (depending on who you ask) are essential to keeping it healthy.
Your gas mileage sounds way off! I don't know what to offer about that.

I didn't even bother to look at the tach lol but I think Its about 3000rpm @70mph.And at around 2200-2300 I feel the car is rattle but can't locate where it comes from!Thank you
