My front fog light lenses cracked, so I ordered up new front fogs from Classic MINI. Very helpful and they also included the new connector (there was a change of connector from when my 2002 fogs were produced) and the wiring leads I needed.

This afternoon, after a little turkey, I changed the fog lights over, but now I'm wondering whether there is an official process for aiming the front fogs. There is an aiming adjustment screw (up/ down I presume) that is accessible from the top with everything buttoned up again.

Any ideas?

Dave

I went through this when I installed the factory foglights on my car. Even the retrofit kit needed the connectors and housings changed before it would all work.

The screw accessed from the top is the up-down adjustment. There is no side-side adjustments needed or provided. Word of warning, you are best to use a hex (allen) 'socket' on a swivel or universal joint rather than a screwdriver, because you cant quite get a straight shot down to the adjuster. You risk stripping the plastic 'screw head', since the torque needed is rather considerable for the plastic to take.

My buddy Dan has a good write-up on the foglight procedure here. Look near the bottom of the page.

Already planning on using a hex key.

Thanks for the link!

Locate the car on level ground with the headlamp lenses 25 feet away from a vertical wall.
If the fog lamps are mounted below the bumper, your b-b line should be 2" below the fog lamp axis height.

Have a 6-pack on me!
