I've searched for info on the subject of v36 and the use of a 15% reduced pulley. What I'm trying to get at is dyno charts that can demonstrate what is happening when the two are put together. Is there any spots too lean or too rich with the new software ? Should the aftermarket pulley guys look into this ? I'm a motorcycle guy so from looking at the exhaust tip soot it appears to be ok. I would like to hear from the experts just to make sure that all is good.
Thanx.

Why don't you read your plugs to see whats happening?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't that be difficult if not impossible ?
If I wanted to know what A/F ratio was say at 4,500 rpm wot, wouldn't I have to run the car upto 4,500 rpm, shut off the ignition, stop the car and check the plugs? Repeat same for every throttle position and rpm?
We would do this with ATV/Dirtbikes after mods. With 3 different jets for low, mid, high speed this was feasable. But driving a fuel injected car around town for awhile and looking at the plugs would seem to only be beneficail in the most extreme conditions of leaness or richness since typicaly it would always be varying. If it was lean at wot, but you drove back to your garage at 1/4 throttle, came to stop, turned of the car, checked the plugs, wouldn't the evedence already be gone?

Another question confusing the uneduacated such as myself. Since the MINI's ECU will detect lean conditions and compensate, isn't the real question, how much intervention and subsequent power loss is the ECU having to do? Or how much of the safety margin I am already using? And will there be enough left if I get a bad tank of gas, in AZ in the summer, w A/C on, stuck in a traffic jam ?
Or to put it another way, would the plug ever real show lean until it was nearly over ?

I'm not second guessing you, just trying to increase my understanding.

The car runs rich with version 36. I have a 17% pulley on my car and I was running around 11 to 1 during 4 dyno runs. The Air temp was in the mid 50's when we did the testing.

PM me if you want more info

Thanx vdubdoug.
I just want to make sure all is well when running a 15% reduced pulley and v36.
I'm waiting on the G.I.A.C. software, I see you are a Helix fan too.
Eric did my pulley, cool dude.
I'm hoping GIAC will be done soon and turns out bitchin.
By the way I'm on long island, where are you?
